    How I help you

It's time to face the past and present, so you can positively embrace the future

Overcoming psychological challenges is a journey, and it’s one you can make, with me by your side. Most mental health issues have a story, an event or a situation at their core, which unaddressed, manifests itself in a wide range of issues, impacting on every area of your life.

    My counselling sessions can help you;

    Overcome anxiety and depression

You may have been medically diagnosed with anxiety or depression, or be experiencing the panic attacks, phobias, problems sleeping or conditions like OCD which can result. These may be long-standing issues or something you’ve started suffering with recently.

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused an upsurge in anxiety and mental health problems among sufferers, and affected those who have never experienced this before, due to the isolation of lockdown, money and employment worries, health concerns, and bereavement.

Unfortunately, anxiety, depression, and phobias can be completely debilitating, affecting your work, family relationships, and general ability to cope with life.

My counselling sessions give you the chance to talk through your feelings and fears and give you practical strategies for managing them.

    Build confidence and self-esteem

A severe lack of confidence and self-esteem can blight your relationships, work performance and social life. It can hold you back and cause you to be indecisive and vulnerable.

Counselling sessions to get to the bottom of your confidence issues could be the best thing you could do for yourself. In a safe space, we’ll explore your feelings, the root of the issue and work on building your confidence and self-esteem as well as equipping you with the right thoughts, goals, and strategies for times when it slips.

By rebuilding your confidence, you’ll feel more able to make decisions, assert yourself and feel proud of yourself and your achievements

Find meaning and purpose in your life

Trauma, anxiety and depression can result in a feeling of unfulfillment and lack of purpose. Left unaddressed this can lead to a lack of motivation and even ability to cope with day to day life. We all need a sense of purpose and to improve your life, you need to find yours.

It might be that you’re missing a spiritual connection which was previously important to you, and without it you feel lost. If this is the case, my Christian perspective and insight may be of help, guidance and comfort.

Right now, it may feel like this isn’t possible. But with one to one honest, open, safe support I can help you regain your purpose and face life with renewed vigour and confidence.

    Evaluate and improve your relationships

To most human beings, relationships are everything, and a source of our confidence, enjoyment of life and well-being. But if the relationships in your life are a source of stress and unhappiness, counselling can help work through the issues.

I will help you explore your feelings and behaviours, work with you towards changing them if necessary and support you into a place where you can make the decisions that are right for your life and those around you.

The sooner you can access help, the better equipped you’ll be to manage your relationships.

Build the resilience to cope with life's challenges

None of us know what life will throw at us. What’s important is how you face and manage the challenges, and this means building strength, confidence and resilience.

It may be unimaginable that you can robustly cope with your mental health issues and difficult external events in the future.

But my counselling has been shown to do exactly that. It will give you skills, strength, knowledge, awareness, self-belief and purpose, so that when the next challenge comes, you are more ready for it than you’ve ever been before.
